Glaucoma is damage to the optic nerve of the eye caused by increased pressure inside the eye itself.  It is a potentially blinding disease and has no symptoms in the early stages.

Using the latest equipment, our doctors are able to diagnose and treat glaucoma to maintain good vision.  This equipment includes:

• GDx VCC - laser techonology used to acurately measure the nerve fiber layer of the retina.
• Matrix visual field analyzer - acurately tests and detects losses in the visual field
• Digital retinal photography - documents and allows visual comparison of the optic nerve in the eye over time to look for changes due to glaucoma.

Early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma is necessary to maintain normal vision.  We screen every patient in order to make that early diagnosis when the disease is present.
